Malappuram, Kerala, 02 February 2026: RLG Systems India Private Limited reiterated its commitment to advancing sustainable local governance today by acting as leading partner to Haritha Padham – Capacity Building Workshop for Representatives of Local Self Governments, an environmental capacity-building seminar organized by the League for Environment Protection (LEP) State Committee. The initiative brought together leaders from governance, academia, and environmental sectors to explore practical strategies for incorporating sustainability into local self-government systems. 

The seminar was held at the MSM Auditorium in Malappuram, and approximately 250 representatives from local self-government departments, environmental professionals, and community leaders participated in the event. Registration took place from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by the main program conducted from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. 

The event was supported through a strategic partnership led by RLG Systems India Private Limited, in collaboration with C2G, Suchitwa Veda Research & Development Action Chambers, and Parivarthan Vasudha Vikas, highlighting growing collaboration between responsible industry, research institutions, and governance bodies in addressing environmental challenges. 

Key focus areas of the seminar included sustainable development practices at the grassroots level, applicability of CSR in strengthening waste management systems, collaborative governance models, development of green infrastructure, capacity building for local authorities, and community engagement in environmental stewardship.  

The workshop featured a structured inaugural session and expert-led technical sessions. Mr. Saleem Kuruvambalam, State General Secretary, LEP, delivered the welcome address, followed by remarks from Adv. K. Khader, State President, LEP. Faisal Kannamparambil, State Treasurer, LEP, introduced the Haritha Padham workshop to the audience. The program was formally inaugurated by Hon. Panakkad Sayyid Sadiq Ali Thangal, State President of the Indian Union Muslim League, and the inaugural session included a felicitation address by P. Salam, State General Secretary, IUML. 

Technical workshop sessions were led by prominent experts in environmental governance and waste management. Sheela A., Retired Member Secretary of the Kerala State Pollution Control Board, delivered the first session. The second session was conducted by Jyothish Chandran G., Former State Director (Solid Waste Management), Suchitwa Mission LSGD. The third session was led by Anil Kumar, District Coordinator, State Biodiversity Board, Malappuram. 

Following the sessions, participants engaged in a feedback and evaluation segment. As part of the event’s sustainability-focused outreach, attendees received eco-friendly jute bags bearing the logos of RLG Systems India and Haritha Padham, along with a pen and notepad. Lunch was provided between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
